I create clay portrait sculptures, looking to capture a fleeting expression, an emotion, expressing a thought that is left unsaid.

I fire my sculptures with coloured clay slips (engobes) or in the japanese raku technique, which gives them the unpredictable surface textures and colours that I desire. This adds to the feeling of spontaneity and reinforcing my goal of freezing a moment in time.
